Do You Make These Mistakes With Your Hairstyles?

You don’t bother to update your hairstyle
If you have the same hairstyle for the past 10 years with the same shade of color, by all means, it’s time to make appointment with your hairstylist and get a new hairstyle. Just like make up and clothing, we need to update our hairstyle occasionally too.

It’s been 2 months since your last haircut and you haven’t trim it
The tip of the hair is very vulnerable to breakage and split ends, as it is weaker than the root. So, it is best to have the tips trimmed every 6 weeks. It will not only maintain the hairstyle but also the condition of the hair.

You try 101 ways just to make you hair something it just isn’t
For example, you have a curly hair by nature. One day, you want to get the fabulous straight look like the famous celebrity that you fancy of. Hold on and ask yourself: how much time do they spend to achieve that look? Most of the time they have a team of professional hairstylist to maintain and style their hair. Do you have the time to do all those routine? Don’t force your hair and yourself.

You go for this hairstyle without considering your face shape
So, Victoria Beckham looks oh so chic with the Bob hairstyle, you want to have it too. There is nothing wrong to follow the celebrities hairstyle but please do yourself a favor & consider these things before you go for the hairstyle: face shape, hair texture, many more. Besides, you can always try the hairstyle software on the internet to see which hairstyle will suit your face.

pompadour.How-To: Do a 5-Second “Poof”

(shout out to the pompadour...from french court to jersey shore.)

For those days when you don’t have time to wash your hair or spend hours styling, try a “Poof!” Also known as the hair bump, this style is quick, easy and super cute. Just follow these five simple steps:

Grab a section of hair from your hairline. If you have bangs, that’s the part you’ll use.
Twist the hair about an inch back from the hairline.
Holding the part of hair that you twisted, push forward to create the “bump”.
Using two bobby pins, pin the hair from both sides on the twisted hair so that it supports the poof’s volume.
Add hair spray.
Voila! It only takes a few seconds and you’ve got a great hairstyle you can wear straight, with beachy waves, or even with a ponytail. Either way, you’ll look great in no time.

getting schooled

Graduation.
I’ve worked way too hard for “hair school….”

I’d like to thank Julie, my teacher, for teaching me everything I know about working in a salon setting.

She maintained the integrity of the Empire program by working us to the bone sometimes, at a really challenging pace, expecting everything from us. But at the same time Julie also became my friend. And allowed us to form friendships with our classmates that will hopefully last throughout our whole careers.

Here’s to one of the most challenging careers one could pick, but also the most creative and rewarding. I love the identity my new career has given me and have had the time of my life over the past year.

Congratulations everyone!!!
