Spring Clean for a Cause!!

I received this e-mail the other day and Had to pass it along!

Hello Everyone—
Just a few weeks ago, downtown Tuscaloosa, Alabama was devastated by one of the fiercest tornadoes in its history. Hundreds of people lost everything when their homes were flattened, and dozens of businesses were destroyed. BTC Member Heather Milonas alerted us this week to tell us that she is working with a local group of teachers to assemble and distribute care packages for people affected by the disaster, and she has a request for the BTC community. She is asking salon professionals to do some “spring cleaning” and send gently used products, tools and towels to include in the care packages. These folks also need canned food, water and batteries. To donate, please send items directly to: Alabama Relief, c/o Jerry & Sandra Tingle, 13541 Rock House Road, Vance, Alabama 35490. Hey BTC, let’s all pack up some of those desperately needed towels, shampoos, conditioners, dryers and anything else you can spare, and send them to Tuscaloosa. Once again, we will show the world what hairdressers can do when we all come together!

Big Hair for a little Price.

Dear Jersey,
i need some hair advice! I'm going to a wedding and i can't afford to pay someone to do my hair : ( so I'm on my own lol. I'm thinking updo with volume but i don't want prom hair. how do i make this happen? lol please help i can curl and spray like any good jersey girl but i have no clue how to tease or anything and my hair deflates by the time i get from my room to the car so i don't think down is an option. any step by step tips? thank you soooooo much!
xx LBI

First, knowing how to tease is a GOOD thing--like when you need a look that will last from morning to night (perfect for weddings)
Having the right tools is key to a great tease!

before anything, follow this must list:

1)take your shower the night before your event, this will allow the hair to be in optimal curling and teasing scruffiness. (SN: only condition your ends not your scalp)
2) blow out your hair with a round brush and moose or use hot roller in just your crown area, the goal if to have you hair volumized before we start to tease
3) max hold hair spray is not mandatory but will deff make you life so0o much easier!
4) use a teasing comb, avil at sally's for like 2 bucks, its an awesome tool that any Jersey girl must not live without.

To get crown teasing just like this picture shows leave out the front section (if you wear a bang also leave that section out. Using a comb, tease the hair. To, tease take a section about the size of your finger start at in the middle and comb toward the scalp .

Also Check out this tutorial on Youtube.(sorry my hyper link is not working you must copy and paste this link-it's crap I know) http://youtu.be/PHN6d9awS_k

Just not Jersey enough to tease?
The side braid is my fav. and go to look right now. but you must know how to braid on yourself or you just end up looking like a crazy person. See Jen Aniston rocking that look in a picture in my April post " An Esquire & Gorgeous Hair This Spring

Need hair advice? or just have another random question? just post a comment and I will LOVE to answer it!

Hairdo (or hair don't?)

Jessica simpson's newest addition to her extention line is clip on bangs! saw them at Cosmo prof last week and had to pick them up! this photos ia all you do!
I'm absolutely delighted with these bangs. They're perfect! (It matches my hair color exactly, I'm a semi-dark brown with some lighter hues and the R6 is just perfect.)
Not only the color, but the overall look of the hair is so good too! This thing really looks like it grew on my head, and not like it's a wig or something! I'm so happy with it that I just had to rush here to share my feelings about it. :)

What really sealed the deal for me, was the fact that those bangs come with three clips to hold it in place, placed in a triangle. It makes for a much more secure and realistic hold. The fact this hairpiece has three clips makes it hold in place so much better, it realistically looks like part of your head, instead of looking like some strange alien creature sitting on top of it. Yes, they are synthetic, but don't look bad. They were a bit on the shiny side, but if you dust them with a little baby powder and comb through, it takes the shine right out!

Best Foot Forward

For me the best feeling in the world is sitting on the swing with my toes in the sand! unfortunately I live 40 min away from the beach, and with gas prices (wanting my first born) driving there more than once this week was just not an option.(SN:seaside park beach badges are now on sale for the cheapest price all season just $45 go to http://www.seasideparknj.org/beach-tourism-parking-information/ for the deats) So I did the only other logical thing, I ran away! 2 miles to be exact. Now that my hair is shoulder length it does not quite fit into a ponytail so last night I had a to tie my hair in a 1/2 pony then take the rest into another pony (slightly Mohawk like) so today I spent the morning looking for headbands. Not the easiest task since my head is very Irish (aka big!LoL) I stumbled across these http://www.sweatybands.com/ my friend Lisa LOVES her but unlike her I need to try before I buy whenever possible so0o I found http://www.therunningplace.com/ it is right in Newton, PA and they sell them! yay! so now tonight I am going to try one of these bad boys out! sounds awesome!!

What do you use to keep your hair in place?

More Than a Hair Cut

All women need to have a breakup haircut.

Many women swear by this almost as a rite of passage. Logically, it’s the worst thing you can do after a breakup. You’re irrational, you’re emotional, you’re everything you shouldn’t be when you sit on that swivel chair and ask the stylist to chop off your locks.

But what you get out of this simple act of a haircut is indescribable. It’s almost a sense of liberation. Like the emancipation of that part of your life. You’re chopping off a part of you. You’re making a change. You’re ready to start a new. The old you is being swept up by the bottom-of-the-food-chain assistant at the hair salon and thrown in the garbage bin. Gone. For good.

All women need a breakup haircut.

I had mine on Saturday.
